Start a collection

Navigate to Action -> New -> Data Collector Set or right-click on Performance Monitor under Performance -> Monitorying Tools and select New -> Data Collector Set

Add a Performance Counter

Inside the new data collector set window, click the green plus (+) button (Ctrl-N) to add a performance counter to the window.

Some notable counters are:

• .NET CLR Exceptions

  View thrown exceptions by a .NET application

• .NET CLR Memory

  View garbage collection stats for a .NET application
